Covid-19 pandemic

Updated: Dec 29, 2022

When California announced the 'Shelter in Place' order on March 17, 2020, I was thinking it would only be for three weeks. I would have never guessed how long it would last.

In April, I was thinking of playing cello with my family as a Mother's Day (5/8 Parent's day) gift for my parents in Korea. I started to record, videotape, and edit the video of my cello playing at home by myself. I am not someone who is good at technology but I am slowly learning it during this time.

I still miss playing with other musicians very much, but making videos seems to work. At least, I can share music with my family and friends to encourage them.

I am very grateful!

Me & My Cello

I have created an YouTube account for my cello playing for the first time in May 10, 2020.

I personally do not like to watch my playing after a concert is over. I have never thought videos would be very necessary, but when I can not play and share in public, I began to start thinking about recording music. I have so many great memories of performances, but I do not own many video clips from those memorable performances. Now, I have regret. I hope I will be able to record more from now on. Not because I am good at it, but because I can share more through this tool.

What I have prepared new for Zoom meetings and recordings

1) new microphone for daily use: Shure MV51

2) black curtain for video background

3) a stand light with clip for video lighting

4) iPad stand for video

5)headphone : Boss nosey cancelation (I am borrowing it from my husband)
